So was doing some checking of fuses today for a potential mod and been a bit ham-fisted as now have dash warning lights and the following errors on my code reader. Could kick myself…. :banghead: Do I now need to find a coder like BMW Scanner 1.4 (and the appropriate vintage laptop) to be able to delve/correct further or admit defeat and take car to local mechanic ?

Grateful for any help.

Hi Stephen, no they won’t erase - keep coming back. I was looking at some fuses and I must have shorted out fuse 28 (which is normally blank). Seems it covers:-
Starter motor
Automatic transmission
Engine control unit
Cruise control
Immobiliser

Guessing ECU must be alive as can read info streams from it but calibration/settings must be upset.

😭

Try disconnect the battery for 10 mins ( check fuses while disconnected) then reconnect and try clear the fault

So battery back on this morning but sadly no change. Still got all the same error codes. INPA may be needed to recalibrate perhaps…. 😔

Will give INPA a try when I get a cable. Can’t think of anything else at mo. ECU must be ok as its giving me other info and let me remove other errors…
