Electric Roof Button

For some reason the electric roof button is missing, the 6 pin plug is there though.

Being a PFL visually it looks the same as an E36 button, but the part numbers are different. Does anyone know if they’re interchangeable? They’re significantly cheaper from what I can see.

Take a look on RealOEM site enter the last 7 letters and digits of your Vin number and look up the switch part number for your car.

Once you find the diagram showing the switch click on the part number and it will display a list of cars the switch is fitted to and if they are suitable for your model as a replacement. I would hazard a guess that the E36 switch won't be suitable as a replacement but check out on RealOEM if it is or not.

I’ve already done that (although I prefer bmwfans.info as it’s quicker and generally nicer to use day to day) and the part numbers are not the same.

I was wondering if anyone had tried it, compared the pin outs etc? For example if the E36 has an extra pin that would be unused on the Z3 but the functionality was the same.
