Hi Zedders,
I presently run style 18 17 inch square set up.on my Z3, its used for sprints & hillclimbs do weight is important.
Is there a list of, or any one with the knowledge of what Z3/BMW wheels would weigh. I would like to keep to 17's as they are a decent profile. Im down to just about 1120Kg now, the car not me😁

Dont know if this will help but…….

Look at bmwstylewheels.com

section Z

Section Z3-E36

if you open up the file for each wheel it gives the weight in kg. ( last column)

I have Style 68s, supposedly these are on the lighter end of the spectrum

Bmw wheel styles as saud above could be a help.
So if you are running a square style 18
That should be 4x 7.5j x 17 et41 if so those wheels are listed as 10.80 kg each.

Now John's style 68 above only available as staggered set

So front are 7.5j x 17 et41 weight is 9.50kg

Rear is a 8.5j x 17 et50 weight 9.92 kg

So yes with a bit of hunting around i reckon there's a potential to obtain a set of 17 and shave a few kilo .
Stephen.

People under estimate the impact heavy wheels have - the rotational weight can give significant weight saving with a lighter set of wheels. Giving a massive handling difference, as well as fuel saving and braking.

Personnally I'd look round for an after market set of forged wheels, rather than cast as this is where significant savings can be made, if you want a lighter wheel.

Mine - I know non Z, but the principles the same fronts 16 inch weigh in at around 5kg, and rears 17 inch in at around 6kg. The rear tyres weigh 10kg a piece, so the wheel is less than the tyre. Something many tyres fitters are amazed at
