Ordered online a Wiesmann hardtop from Germany.
Seller says it fits both facelift and pre facelift models and also sends along the “universal” brackets and fitting apparel.
Searched the forum and came with the following words of wisdom:
It will fit my facelift model, I may have to pull off the strut of the canvas top.
It will be adjusted but in a different way than the oem one (rear)
It will have a cable for the heated glass in the back and my car may or may not have a socket for this.
Anyone has any experience with these?
I like the Weismann better than the BMW one, so I will make thus work one way or another, I am just curious to see what is the thruth about fitting these.
thank you all.

If you put - Wiesmann hardtop - in search forum heading you'll find quite a few posts on Wiesmann hardtops among them Stacey - BM Babe - who is the only owner in recent times on this forum who I know had a one fitted to her old Dakar Yellow Z3 M Roadster (now sold after she got Dakar Yellow Z3 M Coupe). You might find some info in the posts.
There was a chap on zroadster.net - Deano - who had one fitted to his V8 engine roadster but haven't heard anything from him in the last few years.
Good luck

Thanks.
well seems I will nake a new thread when my hardtop arrives.
not that it be useful to anyone as these hardtops are quite extinct, but you never know.

I have a Weissman hardtop and fitting kit. The fitting kit is different to the standard BMW fitting kit. It will fit both facelift and pre-facelift cars although you might have to disconnect the hydraulic ram that raises the soft top. I say might, because I have never fitted it to my car, it's just stored in my garage resting on my sorned Zed.
I bought the hardtop locally and got the fitting kit from Ebay in Holland.
I can't see why it should be any different to fit than the standard hardtop. The front windscreen fixings are the same fittings and the rear fittings are generally the same but are aligned different from the standard kit. However, it's still a 4 point installation. 2 at the windscreen and 2 behind the seats.

Interesting. Is @deano1712 around to share his experience?
Some say that it does not clear with roll bars installed, some others say that it is a pain to adjust but it fits….
I know he has rollbars on his - ACS ones - not sure if they make any difference. I know he wasn't to impressed with what was delivered but thankfully he is a collosus of an engineer so was able to resolve to his standards

It will fit over the standard roll hoops without any modification. When I bought mine I collected it with my Zed and I just fitted the windscreen bolts and I used 1" webbing lashings, lashed to my seat base to hold the back in position to get it home. My roll hoops did not touch the hardtop. It should fit fine without mods, unless the hardtop itself has been modified. As I already posted earlier, you might have to disconnect the hydraulic ram that raises and lowers the soft top.

Hi guys. My hardtop is the Hamann version so my experience doesn’t apply. There was some fettling to do but was ok after some work and paint. It’s been hanging in the garage 5 years unused lol.

Hope your new Weismann top is trouble free.

On the contrary. I'd find it very interesting to follow your thread. Your thoughts on the build quality. Fitting etc. and of course the final result.

I just love the look of a z3 with its top on. Yup. Middle of summer and I haven't taken mine off.

That's exactly how I got mine home but with a couple of ratchet straps, worked a treat until I managed to get a fitting kit.

Can you verify if these brackets are the correct ones, or look kind of correct, or at least could be used with this hard top?

I googled wiesmann z3 hardtop brackets (images) and it came up with things that look exactly like that.

I'm assuming those bracket things bolt to the car body and the hardtop has pins that slide down into them.

Do you have a photo of the underside of the roof - at the pins or brackets at the back?

Look at the standard BMW hardtop fitting instructions. It explains how to remove a couple of bits from the car to get access to the bolt holes. Then it should be quite obvious how those brackets bolt in to the car (there's three bolt holes in the car frame waiting for brackets to be bolted on)

Looking at the standard BMW fitting kit won't be exact but it really should help.

Sorry mine is the OEM hardtop with OEM brackets. These do look like the ones used with the Weismann hardtop though.

Not a very good photo but here's my Weissman hard top. As you can see there is plenty of clearance for the roll hoops

and this is my fitting kit. It's different to yours but to be honest I haven't tried fitting mine yet, I just bought it and put it in the garage. I don't know why both fittings have the rear demister wires.

Excellent!
your fittings look more original than mine, but I guess they will do what they are supposed to.
probably mine are diy’s but ok.
