Watched this last night ~ Petrol Ped is a huge PorSHA fan but I think it is a reasonable review

If you had the £65k would you buy one over any other brand?

I don't think they are taking orders anymore, as the G29 is going out of production (probably to be replaced by another huge washing machine).

For me the G29 isn't an attractive proposition. They have become too 'BMW corporate' inside and out. Having owned a car with the B58 engine, they are very very good and a manual would be better IMO, but I just don't like the G29.

If I wanted another two seater vert I would save a few quid and buy a 2015 ish Merc SL63 AMG. They look very similar and are complete hooligans.

If I was in the market with that budget, I would have one of these. Looks like it needs some kind of value controller for the exhaust, to get it to sound better, which is no different to the equivalent Boxster. Also like the road he uses for his test drives, which is my preferred route down to Goodwood.

I watched it last night…I thought it was pedestrian in its pace…I nearly fell asleep..

The consensus from several similar reviews is ..

Thank god we finally have the manual…it’s transformative..

However , with some maybe slight blips in sales in USA and Germany nobody is buying it..

Sure many members here who consider an auto box the work of the devil will resonate with it.. but highly highly unlikely they would dip their hands in their pockets..

Maybe if they’d done it in the beginning and had been brave enough to stick a M badge on it..and some decent colours..

It is a great engine and a much much better chassis than an E85 or E89…but…

Not that model but I bought a G29 2.0 for the wife and a X2 M35i for me both new.....in the same month ( the X2 was an impulse buy after a trade in for a different car wasn't working). I like the G29, it turns heads that's for sure and was bought it when the z3 was sold. Can't abide a manual car, even my motorhome is automatic and doing 4000 miles over the winter in southern Europe is a godsend. The G29 will be well looked after and possibly be my 18 month old grandsons first car!!!

I'm going to be in trouble for saying this but it's moved so far away from the original concept and it is now IMO a 2 seat 4 seat car. If I had the money would I buy one? No, I would spend it on the latest 4 series convertible. Not trying to upset anyone.
