Are these right Tenax for a Z3 tonneau cover.

No the factory one is self tapping.

This is a standard length Tenax.

There is also an extended Tenax screw
( longer thread and plastic sleeve)
For fitment of oe wind deflector and tonneau cover together but difficult to get.
They are still available from Tenax in Germany but will not export them.

A year or so ago 2 other forum members and i managed to get 3 sets of the extended ones with the help of a member in Germany
So for six screw and 6 sleeve to uk nearly £100
So paid 30 odd pounds for 2 but now have them they have a use and the expense is a memory.

Should not be too hard to find standard length ones like in the picture off of a breaker its the extended you cant get

Thanks. I saw the Germany reference, but unable to order (I'm in Canada). And pricey, 30 Euro for the female fastener. I'll keep looking.

The female part in your picture above may well work with a stock bmw self tapp male end

Might still be worth a go like you say relatively cheap with other options being probably more expensive and prohibitive to obtain for you

I have two of the male end with the plastic cover sitting in a box marked "assorted Z3 fixings". I am in the UK, though, so posting would be costly.

Thanks Pond. I do need the female attachment, the one that's on the tonneau cover. I'm going to give the US company a try. I'll post back when I have them. Will let you know if they work. Cheers

Hi Ken no just took wth flash to see it better both pictures standard length.

But can kind of show the difference ( its a fair bit )

So this is my silver zed with a standard length Tenax in place as you can see screws right in.

This is the Orinoco with the extended Tenax in place as you can see screw lenght is considerably bigger.
