I realise many here will not think the Z3 unexceptional, however my 2.8l Z3 is going to FOTU this weekend. Generally its a really good day out.

There was one there last year and I suspect there may be another this weekend.

To compensate I am planning to go to Zedfest in August.

I don't think most people got the gist, as 99.9% of the cars were, in some way, exceptional. There were a few, however, that I thought would have been worthy winners...

I regret not repairing my flood-damaged Escort, as I think I would have been in with a shout.

There was lots of stuff that would have been unexceptional back in their day, but they are now exceptional just by surviving...

There were some cars that Chatsworth really liked. There was the Yugo...

Chatsworth did wonder why anybody would buy this - a Ford Granada 2.0L, possibly the most pointless vehicle of them all...

Did it have anything going for it? Useless performance, bog standard trim level, horrendous economy due to the feeble engine trying to shift a tank, but at least it was shiny.

His favorite, though, was this...

FOTU was excellent and there were three Z3s and a Z4 in attendance.

I really should pay more attention. Grimsthorpe is around 20 minutes from me, yet I had no idea this was on.

Nothing on 'Forthcoming Events' until the day before, bit late for anyone interested!

I am interested to know where people find these smaller events.
I can usually only find stuff that is run by the big classic show organisers online.
I would much rather attend smaller (more local) shows than the huge national affairs, as they tend to be manic and I don't like queuing for anything.
I don't do facebook so that's out.

Most of these smaller shows show up on Club Facebook sites so thats where you are missing out spotting them, quite a few down here in South Wales and further afield during the year. I do like the smaller ones as well as those that get held in the smaller town centres. Coleford Festival of Transport in the Forest of Dean is a good one, also Brecon town centre which is next Sunday 3rd August. Twice a year there is one at Hampton Ferry in Evesham in a meadow by the River Avon, next one there is Saturday 13th September. All of these will be on Facebook with details.

I realise it may result in expulsion from the community, but I have often thought I'd fancy having a go at something like this as another project now I am starting to run out of things to do with my Z3. It would be a good excuse to learn how to weld and fabricate, and if it worked out, provide a bit more space for luggage on road trips

That Morris Minor is exceptional - unique possibly as it's a split screen model with a late grille.

When I wrote off my Metro, my dad used the rear half as a trailer. Hydrogas suspension. It was rock steady at 80mph.

It was the good old days, so the registration lived on, but attached to an MG Turbo sleeper that looked like the original 998 =))
