First the Balinese are wonderful people, but getting into Bali is pretty easy from Australia, although Jetstar our budget carrier the ones that fly there, we have no other choice, are questionable. your crammed into a really uncomfortable seat for 4 and a half hours, the designer of those seats should be made to wear on in his underpants for 4 and a half hours, because thats what it feels like sitting in one. The visit was great, but then you have to leave Denpasar airport at 11 at night because, well as I mentioned you have no choice. You cannot negate the luggage carriers with the surfboards and others that take everything they own along with hand luggage only queue, you just get in line. after an hour or so when your feet feel numb boarding pass in hand you get through that , and next its the passports, another snake queue to navigate, what should have been 50 paces is several hundred. Next is the 1 kilometer walk through all the duty free, that you will have to pay taxes on anyway, when you get back to Australia. You might think ah well the torment is over, but NO its only just started. Because Dempasar airport is huge and the aforementioned budget carrier park in the the cheap seats about another kilometer away. After another ticket screen and a passport check taking another hour or so, and 5 minutes before the flight you hear your boarding platform has changed to the one you were passing 30 minutes ago 300 meters away. But then still have to get a bus across the tarmac anyway to the boarding ladder, and yes I did say ladder, I should have bought new shoes at duty free... To be continued

Well, so far it seems quite a lot of effort to just end with four other blokes at the beach.
Leta hope that the rest of the narrative reveals an interesting plot.

Ladder? Eeh you were lucky - our budget carrier expect you to disembark over the wing and slide down the flaps ;)

And there you go, always an education here. I had always assumed the arrows were there to indicate to the pilot which end was the front. In this case women too, yeah thats ok. Nothing wrong with that, but it does beg the question. Do they still call it a cockpit in that instance ?...

Hmm, am I missing something here? - mind, come to think of it 'she' does have big feet!
Well the one up the front is the fire breather, definitely a bloke, Im almost certain far right and left are female. the two in the middle definitely blokes, One being a good friend and entertainment manager and after many many visits to the resort. handy to know if we ever let someone else use it, I normally stitch them up real bad, with his help...

So anyway, after our epic 300 meter dash for final call, and last to board the plane at least we were seated about 7 rows back from the boarding ladder. Now behind this cool calm collected exterior, hides a bloke with unnatural fear of flying and a phobia of public bathrooms. To help alleviate the fear I got a bit hammered on Bintang before the flight, not really considering the consequences this might have for my phobia.. The usual presentation ensued regarding smoking policy, and familiarizing ourselves with the safety features of the aircraft. Immediately this image sprang to mind, not really helping with my aforementioned fear.

After the anxiety of takeoff I tried desperately to get comfortable in my seat that clearly was designed to do just the opposite. Using a jacket and a fluffy dolphin neck pillow, for the flight that was to arrive at destination at 6.00 am in the morning. I did indeed manage to stack in some ZZZs in short bursts punctuated by a kicks in the kidneys from the kid in the seat behind me.. Now Cairns airport runway is quite short and landing on it is the worst part of the flight, for me anyway and I was busting to use the bathroom to undrink some the medicinal alcohol I consumed much earlier. At touchdown and the following rapid deceleration there was a really load clang dink clang dink clang sound startling me so much that I relieved myself of the need to use the bathroom a little bit. It turned out to be an errant aluminum thermos escaping its owner from behind me bouncing forward down the length of the cabin hitting every chair leg on it way to finally coming to rest at the pilots bulkhead door. to be continued

We need more photos of this trip.
Well I don,t have many because my wife monopolized the camera taking pictures of wildlife, birds in particular, the feathered ones before you ask my Greek friend. No lamps either, but what I can post without incurring the wrath of the moderators of this fine forum will be at the end of this thread...
