I'm back! I wonder if there is anyone left on here that remembers me.

Well, me and the Z4M didn't get on at all, definitely not my favourite car. We only lasted about 6 months together and I moved it on. I used the money to buy a VX220 turbo and that is my weekend/track day car.

One of my friends was selling a Z4 3.0 at a very good price and I couldn't resist. It will become a project for me and my son to turn into a track car. It came with a few track day goodies so we're halfway there already. It is great being back in a 3.0, they are such amazing cars for the money.
Welcome back, and congrats on the purchase but I have to ask, what could possibly be wrong with a Z4M? :watching:

I just couldn't get on with it. Whatever suspension changes they did to widen the stance made it all wrong. I didn't like the snappy way the back end would break and regain traction. The brake calipers were tiny. It was horrid on a bumpy B road. I didn't like the way the diff locked. I also didn't like the "m" tax on parts and the insane road tax costs.

Plenty of people like z4m's so it might just be a horses for courses thing. Personally I much prefer the 3.0 chassis. The S54 engine is a master piece though.

Central locking, fixed.
Glove box catch, repaired.
DISA valve, replaced.
M-sport seats, fitted.
Suspension and chassis, rust proofed.

The next job will be to replace the flexible lines and brake calipers.

I'm really enjoying bringing this old boy back to his former glory. His name is Des by the way.

This is the rust we wire brushed from the chassis.
